- 100% of colleagues actively engaged
- App adoption across 68 locations
- Engagement with 3,000 colleagues
The Challenge:
TrustFord, owned by Ford Motor Company, is the largest Ford dealer group in the world with 68 locations across the UK and Channel Islands, and employs around 3,000 colleagues.
Before implementing Engage, 50% of TrustFord’s employees lacked access to direct digital communication, relying instead on outdated methods such as newsletters pinned on noticeboards. The lack of two-way communication presented a challenge for engaging all employees, particularly those without computers or dedicated work email access.
The Solution:
Seamless communication: During the COVID-19 pandemic, when TrustFord was dealing with different government guidelines across multiple regions, the Engage app became essential. It allowed leadership to communicate rapidly and directly with employees, while enabling workers to voice concerns and ask questions in real-time.
Optimised onboarding: Engage also enhanced TrustFord’s Induction Academy. With the Engage app, new employees can communicate with each other and start to build a community before joining the business and starting its induction process.
Disaster recovery: The app proved critical during unexpected events like global IT outages, allowing TrustFord to maintain smooth operations and communicate quickly with remote and hybrid workers. All employee contact details are securely available within the app, ensuring rapid communication and streamlined responses.
Full digital integration: TrustFord no longer uses an intranet; all internal communication, HR processes, and company policies are accessed via Engage. The app integrates everything from holiday planning to requesting sabbaticals, booking annual leave, and even managing internal awards events.
The Impact:
The Engage app has significantly improved communication and engagement across TrustFord and importantly, showcased it value by successfully safeguarding the operations of the business in the face of a potential hugely costly cyber-attack.
It has transformed how new and existing employees interact with the company, from accessing pay slips to participating in leadership updates and company-wide surveys.
TrustFord also no longer conducts large time-consuming in-person conferences, instead using Engage to push out bite-sized, video messages from leadership, followed by quizzes to gauge employee understanding. This is helping to increase the time employees are spending on driving value for the business.
